The route that leads to the place is full of history, as it was traveled by General San Martín with his glorious army and whose winding roads offer us an adventure like no other, a truly unforgettable experience hidden in the heart of the Mendoza mountains. Along this route we will see many typical animals of the Andes, such as foxes, guanacos and a great variety of birds.
Leaving the city of Mendoza, we will go to Villavicencio, famous for the mineral waters that are extracted from the area. In this place you can visit the old Hotel, which has been in operation since 1940 and its chapel. Through a walk through the gardens, you can access a viewpoint that allows you to admire the valley and the Precordillera, a wonderful and beautiful place to enjoy the views and the particular air that you breathe: one of the cleanest and purest in the world..
We will reach the highest point of the reserve, which is a viewpoint with a view of Aconcagua, and, driving through the trails used by the old mines of the region, we will arrive at Uspallata for a delicious picnic lunch by the river with an impressive landscape.
Then, we will continue the tour along the traditional route 7 that takes us to Chile, stopping at the old Polvaredas train station, at the Penitentes ski resort, at Puente del Inca and finally at Aconcagua Park to walk to the impressive Laguna of Horcones.
On the way back to the city we will discover new formations and landscapes that differ with the passage of time and the location of the sun. In addition, we will make a last stop at the Potrerillos viewpoint to observe a beautiful artificial lake and learn how the water supply works in Mendoza, a city located in a typically desert place.
