Plaza Francia Trekking
3-Day Aconcagua Trekking to Plaza Francia from Mendoza city. We will enjoy an overlook of one of the the largest walls in the Andes Mountains: the Aconcagua South Face.
Our 3 days trek to Plaza Francia is a splendid trip offering great views of one of the toughest climbs in the world: Aconcagua´s south face. The south wall of the Aconcagua is one of the largest walls in the world with almost 2700 meters long, it was first climbed in 1954 by a group of outstanding French climbers and from that point is one of the great challenges for the most experienced mountaineers in the world. During this trekking you will share the camp with many climbers who intend to reach the normal route.
The second day of activity we trekk to the south wall where you can observe the entire Horcones glacier from its beginning to the final stage, this ride will take us between four to six hours. At Plaza Francia we will enjoy the entire South Face while having a delicious picnic lunch. We return to Confluencia Camp in the afternoon, where our chef will be wating with a hearty dinner prepared for us.
In the morning of our third day we will trek down to Horcones, where our transportation will take us to Mendoza city.
Previous Day in Mendoza: We help you to obtain the permit ticket to the Aconcagua Park (not included). Accommodation and Meals are not included on this day.
Day One: Private transfer from Mendoza to Horcones (Aconcagua Rangers point). Trekking of 3 hours to our first camp called Confluencia 3400 m (11154 ft). Accommodation in tents at Confluencia campsite.
Day Two: Trekking from Confluencia to Aconcagua South Face viewpoint 4000 m (13123 ft). 6/7 hours of trekking. Accommodation in tents at Confluencia.
Day Three: Breakfast and return to Horcones,3 hours of trekking. Private transportation to Mendoza, 3 hours ride. End of our services.
