Two-day trekking to take advantage of all the beauty and proximity that the magical Cordón del Plata has, which is located 80 km from the city of Mendoza and offers the possibility of having one of the best mountain viewpoints in the region. A trip without technical difficulties or great efforts that invites us from the first moment to admire the magnificence of the Andes with one of its protagonists, the Cerro Plata with 5968 meters above sea level.
Day 1: Mountain Day with night in refuge.
Leaving the city of Mendoza very early in the morning, we will go to the town of Cacheuta and then we continue along the old road until we reach Potrerillos. When we arrive at the Potrerillos dam, we will make a special and obligatory stop to take some photos, trying to capture in images all the natural beauty that accompanies us.
The road continues on provincial route No. 82, towards Vallecitos, an old ski center that currently serves as a base camp for the ascent of different mountains in this area. We arrive in the morning at the refuge which is located at 3000 meters. Lunch and short trekking of approximately 3 hours through Quebrada del Estudiante, and spend the night in a refuge. Dinner.
Day 2: Mountain Day and transfer to the city
The next day, breakfast and long trekking up the mountains to El Salto, which is the base of Cerro del Plata, at 4200 meters. Lunch and return to the city in the afternoon.
