Cordón del Plata Trekking

Full-day trekking that takes advantage of all the beauty and proximity that the magical Cordón del Plata has, which is 80 km from the city of Mendoza and offers the possibility of having one of the best mountain viewpoints in the region. A trip without technical difficulties or great efforts that invites us from the first moment to admire the magnificence of the Andes.

This circuit is one of the classics of the adventure sector in Mendoza and is carried out in a region near the province called "Cordón del Plata", a magical place in the Andes that has mountains of all altitudes, with Cerro Plata as the protagonist. 5968 meters above sea level, which can also be seen from the city.

Leaving the city of Mendoza, we headed to the town of Cacheuta and then continued on the old highway 40 until we reached Potrerillos. When we arrive at the Potrerillos dam, we will make a special and obligatory stop to take some photos, trying to capture in images all the natural beauty that accompanies us.

The path continues on Provincial Route No. 89, towards Vallecitos, an old ski center that currently serves as a base camp for the ascent to different mountains in this area.

This tour stands out above all for the view of the Cordón del Plata mountains, since from the summit almost nothing escapes sight. It is possible to see the path traveled and finally enjoy the peace that this landscape gives us.
