Tempus & Catena Zapata

In the morning, we will visit a family winery named Tempus Alba, attended by its owners. They elaborate and export high quality wines. Then in the afternoon, we will visit a classic winery of Mendoza. Its name is Catena Zapata which is one of the most visited winery by tourists that arrive in the province.

We left the hotel at 10.30 am, without getting up as early as in other tours, to Maipú, known as the "cradle of wine" for hosting centuries-old wineries. The first European immigrants arrived here to settle and produce their wines (Rutini , Trapiche, Zuccardi , among others). After thirty minutes, we will arrive to Tempus Alba.

This is a boutique winery that receives us in a relaxed way, attended by its owners and winemakers directly what makes a big difference in the experience. People will enjoy not only their wines and walking for its vineyards, they will feel as if they were in the house of true friends.

After making the visit we will know about their projects that they carry out selecting and cloning the best plants of their vineyards to achieve great wines. Later we will enjoy a gourmet picnic among the vineyards and under the pergola of its beautiful gardens, a relaxed lunch accompanied by the best Malbec Rosé de Mendoza ...

Then we continue to Luján de Cuyo, a district known as "the capital of Malbec", where more than 100 wineries produce wines that compete in the world seeking to be the best Malbec on earth. And if we talk about quality we have to go and try the Catena Zapata wines. We will enter through its vineyards and little by little we will see the architecture of a Mayan pyramid that will receive us to get into the history of a pioneer family in the elaboration of high-end wines.

We will visit the facilities, reaching its terrace to appreciate an imposing view of the Andes mountain range, followed by a great tasting. Catena wines have made Argentina known internationally and its renowned winemaker Alejandro Vigil (owner of El Enemigo winery) continues adding prizes in different world competitions where he is presented. Without doubts, visiting Catena Zapata is an unforgettable experience.

We return to Mendoza around 5:00 p.m.
